Pigmented Lesions

Keep Only The Spots You Want

How Does it Work?

During treatment, Dynamic Pulse Control (DPC) pulses are emitted into the skin. Due to the specific wavelength of the pulses, the pigmented lesion optimally absorbs the light energy. The energy causes the pigmented lesion to break and eventually disappear while leaving the rest of the skin unharmed. Initially this process will manifest as darkening of the pigment, then a scab will cover the treated area which is then naturally exfoliated within 1-2 weeks.

Pigmented Lesions Treatment

Pulsed light treatment of vascular and pigmented lesions is rapidly becoming the therapy for people seeking lesions, telangiectasia, erythema, rosacea and broken capillaries by efficiently coagulating and eliminating small blood vessels. Pulsed light has also been proven an effective, safe, reliable and fast treatment for a range of superficial pigmented lesions such as dyschromia, solar lentigo, mottled pigmentation and melasma. The treatments require no downtime.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of pigment can be treated? SharpLight’s solution is appropriate for treating a wide variety of pigmentation concerns such as sun damage, age spots and freckles on the face, neck, chest, hands, arms, legs and feet.

Does it work on all skin types? DPC technology has been clinically proven to remove unwanted pigmentation on skin types (I-V).

Are the treatments safe and painless? SharpLight's pulsed-light treatments are non-invasive and 100% safe. During the procedure, there may be a slight 1-2 second, momentary tingling sensation that may be felt, but no pain. The treatments leave you with zero downtime so you can get them done during your errands or lunch hour and be back to your daily routine.

What kind of result can I expect? After the very first treatment you can expect to see a reduction in the appearance of unwanted skin pigment, and following multiple treatments the pigmentation will disappear and your skin will be more even in tone.

How many treatments are necessary? The typical regimen is an average of 4-6 treatment sessions, depending on the size of area being treated. They should be spaced 4 weeks apart for optimal results. This is due to any natural healing that will occur during treatment
